Wilkes-Barre, PA concept band the TRiBE has been in constant motion since they left for Turkey Hill Brewing Co. February 6. Touring throughout Eastern and Northern PA, they’ve made stops in Scranton, Bethlehem, and Philadelphia, with Ardmore, New York, and Lancaster still on the horizon. Amidst it all, the TRiBE has found time to drop a new music video for their single “Highlights”.
The six-piece is made up of Jordan Ramirez (vocal/rhythm guitar), Andrew Sauter (lead guitar), Mike Wintermute (bass), Chris Langan (drums), Angelo Miraglia (keys), and Carl Krupa (sax/flute). Together, the band creates an alluring envelope to deliver Ramirez’s smooth lyrics. Incorporating elements of jazz, soul, and R&B, this is undoubtedly some kick-back-and-feel-good music. But their jazzy jams aren’t just for Sunday morning— performing, the TRiBE folds their grooves into peaks and valleys, using improvisation to segway their soul.
The video for “Highlights” centers around the TRiBE’s concept of a crow that flew to the sun to save the human race. The reoccurring colors and emblems all have tied symbolism to the crow’s mission. Patrons can sign up to become a tribe member by choosing a color that coordinates with a particular role in the tribe. Choose red to become a guardian and protect the tribe, or blue to become a spiritual advisor for the tribe.
You can learn more about the TRiBE by visiting their website or streaming their music on SoundCloud and Spotify. But, as always, the best way to get to know a band is by seeing them live. The TRiBE will be tuning up for the Funky Brunch Market at the Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, PA. Get there early to catch their set at 11:15 a.m. (and it’s free!).
